Wang Yuwen was born on May 28, 1997, in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. From a young age, she developed an interest in the performing arts and trained in dance, which later contributed to her expressive acting style. Wang attended the Affiliated Secondary School of the Beijing Dance Academy, focusing on ballet and song-and-dance performance. In 2015, she enrolled in the Beijing Dance Academy, majoring in Musical Theater and graduated in 2019, gaining skills in acting, vocal performance, and piano.
Wang Yuwen made her film debut in 2015 with the short youth romance Love in Numbers, playing the role of Ke Yi. She entered television in 2016 with the fantasy campus drama Super Star Academy, portraying Cheng Zhi Er, which showcased her ability to handle supernatural-themed youth drama and character growth. In 2017, she appeared in Rush to the Dead Summer as Li Yanran, a youth drama adapted from Guo Jingming's novel. She also starred in the film Nice To Meet You (2018) as Ling Caicai. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with the critically acclaimed film An Elephant Sitting Still, directed by Hu Bo, where she played Huang Ling, earning praise for her emotional depth and nuanced portrayal of a troubled high school girl. The same year, she appeared in the historical drama Secret of the Three Kingdoms as Cao Jie, Cao Cao's daughter. She has also appeared in numerous other series, including Nobody Knows (2022), Tiger and Crane (2023), and Our Days (2024), along with hosting events and participating in reality shows.
She also performed songs for drama soundtracks, including The Moment the Flower Blooms for The Chang'an Youth OST in 2020.
