Gu Mingyi born in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, is a Chinese actress who pursed her passion for acting academically, enrolled into the Performance program with a double major in Musical Theatre at the Communication University of China in September 2019.  She went to Busan, South Korea to advance her musical training internationally at Dongseo University.  During her studies in Busan she performed in various Broadway-style musicals, enhancing her stage performance and presence, graduating in June 2024 after returning to China in 2023.

While in South Korea in 2022 she began her screen career.  She appeared in Hôtel de la Déesse, a slightly fantasy-tinged suspense series, playing the role of Demon Cat.  Su Wuming venu des Tang, portraying Ye Qing.  In the same year, she performed in the musical Le Mandala des Mystères de la Dynastie Tang, taking on the role of Madame Chen alongside noted performers Zong Juntao and Huang Zihongfan.  Gu Mingyi film career skyrocketed in 2024 with Meurtre Silencieux (2024): played Zhong Xiaoqing, one of the lead roles, Les Cinq Jeunes Actrices (2024): portrayed dual characters Zhu Zhu & La La, Malveillance (2024): acted as Li Jingwen, and Douze Choses à Ne Pas Faire Après une Rupture (2024): played Qiong Qiong.  These projects highlight her versatility in modern cinema and involvement in ensemble as well as solo lead performances

.Her television career began the year of 2025 appearing in Les Deux Belles Détectives (2025): as Hai Tang, establishing her presence in police procedural series.  Beyond scripted dramas, she has participated in fashion and entertainment events, including Shanghai Fashion Week representing brands AWAYLEE and CELLO SONATA, as well as the 75th anniversary of Zhouzhuang Film Week and Sohu Fashion Ceremony in 2025.
